July 4th: Japanese & American Style

On the actual Independence Day, steaks were grilled and fireworks observed, but the day before was an Asian cookout!

We also got to spend last week with my brother who is on active duty in the army, which made us all feel a little extra patriotic this year. So glad he could take leave and come home! Since we just got back from a week-long vacation, we kept it pretty low-key this year, and it was fantastic.

That last one's from our balcony. The long streak of light at the bottom is the freeway.

  3. Brooke- Yes Grandpa and Dad. Sad, though, I've never thought my dad was that old! :) But my grandpa sure is--going on 95! I liked the photos of your dad, too.

But oh how I do love photographing wise men!
