Remembering 9/11

I created this photo collage as part of a project in a photography class ages ago. I shot the photographs of Ground Zero and West Point just one year after 9/11, in the fall of 2002. All on my 1970 Nikkormat EL on Ilford.

It was a large print with multiple exposures. Oh, how I miss my darkroom days.

Cole | Everyday Heroes Project

Sweet little Cole has severe myoclonic astatic epilepsy. "He is a warrior. At two years old, he can not go outside, play in groups, go to church or a bunch of other things or it will cause seizures. He is happy and very flirtatious and you would never know that he has real medical issues upon first glance."

My favorite aspect of photography is capturing true emotion on film, even when my images aren't "technically" perfect. Enjoy a few "outtakes" until I post the final images.

I love how I can still feel the crazy love and energy of these little rascals that was palpable during our crazy session.

Duckling...

I captured this mama duck and her baby during our graduation/anniversary vacation to Palm Springs over a month ago.

Our own little duckling is set to hatch this November, and we couldn't be happier.

It's been a long, rough, complicated road so far. So don't be surprised if there is another big break before my next post.
