Lucas | Everyday Heroes Project

Sweet Lucas was born with heart problems, but you would never have known it! He was so happy, playful, and tender as any baby should be.

This dear family experienced tragedy recently, as Lucas returned to Heaven. I feel privileged to have spent time with these amazing people, and my heart hurts for them.

The Everyday Heroes Project: Wrapup

This project has been incredible. Thank you for your nominations, donations, and support! The one-year anniversary of Prof. Goldsmith's passing was this month, and it means so much to me to be able to commemorate his memory with photos of these Everyday Heroes. Meeting and photographing all those nominated for my little project has been inspiring to me both as a photographer and as a person. You have touched many lives. Arigatou, ne.

Cole | Everyday Heroes Project

Sweet little Cole has severe myoclonic astatic epilepsy. "He is a warrior. At two years old, he can not go outside, play in groups, go to church or a bunch of other things or it will cause seizures. He is happy and very flirtatious and you would never know that he has real medical issues upon first glance."

There are still a few spots available in the Everyday Heroes Project. If you are interested in participating or would like to nominate someone as your everyday hero, please contact me at alli@allismiles.com.

*Please note that the nominee does not need to have a medical condition to be an everyday hero.

Luke | Everyday Heroes Project

Although Sara is only in one photo (per her request), she is definitely an Everyday Hero. Luke has so much life, and such was a hoot to photograph. He's the man of the house, and from what I understand, the spitting image of his late father.

Peris Family | Everyday Heroes Project

Dave was nominated as an everyday hero because "he and his wife are probably the best examples of cheerfully enduring trials. Their daughter has cystic fibrosis and it takes a lot of work for both of them to take care of her and to provide her the best quality of life. They do it so well. They're an inspiration to me for being such good parents to their beautiful baby girl."
--friend.

You'd never guess this spunky little girl was anything but 100% healthy and happy. What a great family!
